Today is the greatest day in a long time.  Yes, last night was the last night of my kids’ soccer (football, for those of you outside of Trumplandia) season.  I have finally reclaimed my Tuesday and Thursday nights for doing whatever the hell I want to do.

Let’s all enjoy our leisure time with this beautiful Spring weather with some music about rest, recreation, and sports, games, and other activities.  I’m particularly interested in hearing some Yacht Rock this week.  Give me the music you chill and play to.

Santino: Higher Love by Steve Winwood

pfluffy: Steal Away by Robert Dupree

Rich Taylor: Time for Me to Fly by REO Speedwagon

WVR: Take Me to the River by Talking Heads.  That’s one of my favorite Spring cookout themes.  Don’t know why.

That’s it?  You people are too relaxed.  How about some more participation this week?

Would you like to be included in next week’s dedications?  Share a song now.

I feel sorry for you youngsters who missed the best decade on music, the 70’s; The Who, Pink Floyd, Boston, early Chicago, The Doors, Led Zepplin, Fleetwood Mac, Heart, James Taylor. At least you got youtube.

Lurking

I’m particularly interested in hearing some Yacht Rock this week.

One kind of music I rebelled against my entire life.

Give me the music you chill and play to.

Utopia — Overture: Mountaintop and Sunrise/Communion With the Sun

Al Di Meola — Mediterranean Sundance

The Cars — Let the Good Times Roll

“Let them brush your rock’n’roll hair”

And so on, and so forth.

Find the river by REM is my napping song.

Other ‘chill’ sings are mainly from my University times when I, ahem, had need of a chill soundtrack quite often.

Morcheeba – the sea

Sexy Boy – Air

The Football (it’s played with the feet, guys) season still has a couple of weeks left, including the mighty Liverpool in the Champions League Final – So I’ll be singing a lot of this.

And then we’re into the World Cup! Start the unrealistic expectations now!

Hah! At least you have a team to be disappointed in. 🙂

Darius Rucker – Wagon Wheel

I was in Nashville last November. I swear I heard that song in every bar I went to.

Besides, you just don’t hear saxophones anymore.

I have no idea what Yacht Rock is, but check out this small Kiwi band called Drax Project – bringing back the sax solo!
