We have a rarity this week: two DJ posts in a row! It was a busy weekend, so I didn’t get an open thread in. Wouldn’t have mattered anyway. Main topic would’ve been about the election and there’s still a spirited debate in progress on that topic.
So that’s how I’ll justify my neglect of your RVS needs this week. I didn’t want back-to-back open thread topics, so we’ll do back-to-back music. Why not? It’s not like you have a choice anyway, with both me and pfluffy drowning in mid-Fall melancholia.
All that said, here’s what I’m looking for this week.
- Segue Tunes: Those songs that turn into other songs. Like they’re two different songs, but when you listen to them on an album they run together. I have a couple of examples in mind in the dedications.
- Sequel Tunes: Companion songs that are either parts 1 and 2 or whatever.
- Double albums: Best song from each from any artist.
- Back in Black: If you can’t think of any on this theme, just play some AC/DC.
Dedications for the week. It’s all in the above YouTube playlist.
Santino: Parabol/Parabola by Tool
pfluffy: Need You Tonight/Mediate by INXS
Delurked: Don’t Cry and Don’t Cry by Guns N’ Roses
WVR: Brain Stew/Jaded by Green Day
One of my favorite #1’s – NIN’s Head Like a Hole to Terrible Lie Another – Pink Floyd’s The Dogs of War to One Slip. And one more – Panic! A #4 – A few weeks ago, randomly about the time my son… Read more »

Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds did a double album Abbatoir Blues/Lyre of Orpheus. Abbatoir Blues was the better album, but I always loved the title track to LoO. Witch Hunt (Part III of Fear)
Frankly, I’m not too wild about Part II (The Weapon) so I’m not posting it.
