At last, the winter has ended. I’m celebrating my annual Spring Break vacation from everything and all the fine special occasions packed into this week. Among my activities was a visit to the haunted Belvoir Winery with Mrs Thrill during our wedding anniversary. Didn’t see any ghosts, despite my best efforts to get smashed enough to become paranormal myself.
But this isn’t a ghost story music post. We can look into that in October. No, let’s now glorify the vernal equinox with some of its better attributes (in addition to the nicer weather).
- Renewal – Bands and artists who got a new lease on life. Saw revivals of their careers and reached new peaks long after their prime was thought over. Can also include established bands with albums released in the past year.
- Carefree – I don’t know about you, but I can’t concentrate at all in the Spring. I’m in too much bliss and still shaking off the Winter blues. Let’s have songs that are unfocused, rambling, and have no consistent sound. This is Nature’s ADHD.
- Fuckin’ – This is also Nature’s Viagra. It’s happening all around you. Every living creature is doing it. Post something on point if you’re not getting any.
pfluffy: I Don’t Wanna Miss A Thing by Aerosmith. Is their 90’s revival the greatest 2nd act in rock history?
Santino: Wait, there was no Santino last week. He got a head start on Spring Fever.
WVR: True spirit of Spring, right here. LGBNAF by Ice-T.
Zurvan: A fully unfocused song. The Greatest Man that Ever Lived by Weezer
CMNZ: Fun one from a new album. Viper King by Dream Theater
