Rather than wait days, weeks, or years to see the full report, I will instead say what I have to say based on AG Barr’s summary of the Mueller Report into Russian interference in the 2016 election. It feels strange to be here. We’ve spent so much time for the lifecycle of this blog discussing TrumpRussia (or Russiagate or whatever) that it is hard to believe that there’s been a resolution.
Here are the findings. First, no collusion with Russia. Full stop.
Second, Mueller could make no case for obstruction by the president because he couldn’t exactly obstruct an investigation into Russian collusion since he wasn’t colluding and had no reason to obstruct anything.
There’s nothing from Mueller’s investigation that is going to lead to Trump’s impeachment. It’s over. That’s not to say I’m happy with Mueller or going to kiss his ass today.
Mueller has wasted the nation’s time and proven nothing beyond why this whole investigation was a farce that never should have been handled by a Special Prosecutor. This conclusion could easily have been reached by the end of 2017. He had all of the evidence already and instead of sparing the nation the divisive agony of wrestling about whether or not the President of the United States was acting as an agent of a foreign government, he pressed on with meaningless prosecutions of non-crimes against Papadopolous, Stone, and Flynn and a legitimate one against Manafort that could have been handled outside of his efforts.
What Mueller has done is simply left the door open to continue fighting about obstruction and who-knows-what-else for the remainder of Trump’s presidency. He is leaving nothing but more uncertainty in his wake. Anti-Trumpers will use this to continue what they have been doing for the past two years and it’s going to continue harming the country.
For all of this, Mueller failed at his purpose. He has provided no real conclusion, no finality, and did nothing to pacify the debate. This is the Hillary Email Investigation all over again, compliments of his butt-pal Comey. And yet, in spite of his bungling, he destroyed the Russia collusion myth and gave Trump everything he needed to fight back against the Democrats who will continue to push for his impeachment.
First of all, I’m not here to do any gloating. Not much anyway. I’ve been saying since the indictments were handed down for the Russians by Mueller’s office–when Rosenstein carefully emphasized that no Americans knowingly cooperated with their efforts–that this was how this was going to end. It was also always a stretch to believe that Trump firing Comey was an act of obstruction of justice. I still believe that Trump’s own missteps in doing it put himself in this mess, but it was more of a blunder than a crime.
Trump remains your president, Americans.
To me, the Mueller investigation’s outcome was obvious and I don’t think I need to pat myself on the back over it to feel good about myself. I also don’t need to emphasize where I was right to impress anybody. However, I do want the anti-Trumpers who read this to now consider the probability that I know what I’m talking about and listen to what I have to say.
I get that you’re probably angry with this outcome. Some of you had insanely high expectations about what was going to happen. For that, I lay all blame at the feet of the Democratic Party leadership and the complicit news media. You were lied to and betrayed for their failures. I mean, look at this poor fool:
Can you imagine how people like that must feel today after being so misled and betrayed? I imagine that this is like being cheated on by your spouse in terms of hurt and the feeling of being deceived. It must feel like being cuckolded. And it’s millions of them who were cucked. A cucking of that magnitude can only be called–dare I say it–a Cuckocalypse. I refuse to aid and abet any further cucking of these people.
This ends now. Or it should anyway. The same Democratic leaders and media entities who have lied to you for over two years are still trying to sell you more bullshit. Reject it while you can.
Why? Take a look at this.
He’s a liberal guy, incidentally. Not a MAGA fan by any stretch. He’s right about this.
The Russia conspiracy was pushed by the Clinton campaign as an excuse for her loss. It’s true. Remember when we discussed “Shattered”? That book specifically mentioned the “blame Russia, not the awful candidate” coping efforts.
Democrat elites played along because they’ve had nothing else to run on or fundraise with (particularly being terrified of their own populist left wing). The news media dutifully played along because, quite frankly, they were fully complicit in the whole thing from what we learned in the DNC emails to their efforts to help build credibility for the Steele Dossier. When it wasn’t that, they supported the Russia narrative because they chose to abandon the tattered remains of their own objectivity and trustworthiness to influence politics toward their preferred party.
This should ruin them by all rights, but even now the same people are telling you that the Southern District of New York or Congress or somebody else will deliver the goods that will end Trump’s presidency. They’re still lying to you. Enough.
The SDNY can have any investigation they try to make against Trump squashed by Trump’s AG. Trump can also replace any US Attorney he wants to and dare Democrats to do something about it. Speaker Pelosi has already made it clear that Congress’s investigations are meaningless if they don’t produce any actionable impeachment resolutions that Republicans would support.
TrumpRussia was it. It was your best shot at prematurely ending Trump’s presidency and you don’t get another one. You got a special prosecutor, which we Republicans never did during the Obama years. You’ve gotten enough. Now you need to face reality, for your own good.
Trump has been fully investigated for three years by the FBI and then Mueller. It all came to tears. He is fully inoculated against all impeachment efforts for any past misconduct. Putting the eggs in the collusion basket was a horrible mistake, but that’s what the Democrat-Media Complex went with and it has failed. Mueller, asshole that he is, has left the door open for them to continue trying and they certainly will. Don’t follow it any further. Don’t reward them any further for lying to you, betraying you, and failing you. Hold them accountable for doing this to you.
Put your efforts and hearts into defeating Trump, if you don’t think he deserves re-election. The primary campaigns are beginning. Find the candidate you like and support him or her. But forget impeachment.
The weaponization of the law to resolve political issues is what has brought us here. For the rest of Trump’s presidency, crushing the plotters who brought all this on is going to be the subject of the major scandal talk. Only the most rabid and deluded anti-Trumpers will still screech about Russia collusion and expect to be taken seriously when it fully comes to light how much truly heinous and illegal shit was done to propagate the myth.
Trump’s revenge is coming and it will be hard to stomach, but it too will be the fault of the same elites who brought it upon the nation. I hope it sends many of them to obscurity and disgrace, if not prison.
For the rest of you who have believed in the whole TrumpRussia thing, I’m not going to beat you up for past support of it. If you do from here, well, I’m going to have to mock you as some would 9/11 Truthers or Birthers. But not for anything you’ve argued in the past. Again, you were deceived by bad people.
On behalf of all Americans: enjoy your resumed retirement, Bob Mueller, and thanks for nothing.
Ha! You wish. Democrats have already started to spin it. Anything from Trump got to Mueller and it was covered up, to Mueller doesn’t outright state there was no obstruction, so clearly Trump is guilty is currently making the rounds. This isn’t over by a long shot, and these idiots are going to still beat this horse until long after it’s fully decomposed.
I addressed all of that in the post. If people want to try to reanimate the corpse of Mueller’s investigation by trusting the word of the people who have so completely and shamelessly lied to them, they deserve all the mockery and butthurt that will follow.
i do hope that some time in the near future, a enterprising spy manages to snatch the Russian File on this whole mess, it would be fun to see their take on all this.
The Russian take? They’re delighted, I’m sure. They’ve long believed the U.S. has been lurching towards civil war. What has the nonstop collusion myth pimping accomplished if not helping get us there?
Up to their chins in shit and they can’t stop digging deeper.
Democrats and the media have already gone from collusion to the not exonerated narrative. They’re bound and determined to find something, even if it literally kills them.
Simply put, the Russians tried to influence the election and failed, the media and the Democrats tried to find evidence that they helped Trump win and failed, and Trump’s own response was more along the lines of several rookie mistakes more than actual crimes.
They have nothing else. That’s all they’ve had as a justification since Election Day 2016 and they’ve been frozen in time ever since. The only question is if ordinary people opposed to Trump who have bought into the Mueller Kool-Aid up until now are stupid enough to keep buying it.

I disagree with Shapiro’s point #5. Mueller was never any good. I do give Rosenstein a pass.
So what’s everyone’s opinion on Ukrainian Collusion? https://thehill.com/opinion/campaign/435029-as-russia-collusion-fades-ukrainian-plot-to-help-clinton-emerges The leak of the so-called black ledger files to U.S. media prompted Manafort’s resignation from the Trump campaign and gave rise to one of the key allegations in the Russia collusion probe that has dogged Trump for the last two and a half years. Ukraine Prosecutor General Yurii Lutsenko’s probe was prompted by a Ukrainian parliamentarian’s release of a tape recording purporting to quote a top law enforcement official as saying his agency leaked the Manafort financial records to help Clinton’s campaign. The parliamentarian also secured a court ruling that the leak… Read more »
